My Walkabout

As I navigate life in Southeast Asia; island-hopping excursions, hidden waterfalls, epic beaches and spontaneous adventures that start with a scooter ride - this site is where I document it all. It’s part reflection, part roadmap.

Whether you’re visiting or considering relocating to this region, consider this your shortcut. I share the lessons, the surprises, and the essentials: phenomenal destinations, gear that actually holds up, and the perspective that only comes from living it.

I’ll also share some of the most incredible and wildly affordable housing options across Thailand (I love looking at real estate), breakdowns of each region’s vibe, and exactly how I’m earning a living here as a digital nomad, trading futures. This site is both a way for my friends to following my journey and a resource for aspiring digital nomads dreaming of a life abroad in Thailand.

A Day with Giants: My Visit to a Thai Elephant Sanctuary

This wasn’t just another tour—it was a moment that shifted my perspective. I spent the day walking beside rescued elephants in the hills of Thailand, learning their stories and witnessing the quiet power of connection.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to stand eye-to-eye with an elephant in a place that protects them, this one’s for you.

Aboriginal Australians had a strong spiritual connection to the land. They believed deeply in Dreamtime; the message of a dream and honored a tradition called Walkabout. "A time of reflection of the soul, a return to one's roots and family ancestry, a joyous revisit to vistas creeks and waterholes. A time to replenish the food supplies from another region of Australia. A time of balance to harmonise with the sounds and sights of the great land of Australia." Godwinsdatter, M.G. (1981).

I arrived! The sun was just beginning to rise as we descended toward Ko Phuket, and I was immediately struck by how mountainous the island truly is—something I hadn’t expected. As the light spilled across the peaks, I paused, taking in the moment. The flight, though long, had been smooth. But more importantly, I felt present. I closed my eyes and said the most important prayer I know: Thank you.
