I thought sharing a few properties with you, while I am looking, would be fun. I think you’re going to be surprised by how affordable nice or even luxury properties are here. If you’re new to following along, I am leaving the island of Phuket and relocating to Hua Hin on August 1st.
Okay, so here’s the deal on Hua Hin. It’s located on the Gulf of Thailand, and it’s about 2.5–3 hours southwest of Bangkok, depending on your method of transportation.
The landscape is spectacular. You have the white sands and turquoise waters of the Gulf, and behind you, mountains and jungles that lead to Myanmar (Burma).
The town is quieter than many parts of Phuket, the prices are slightly cheaper, and there are still a lot of tourist excursion offerings.
Personally, I’m not huge into nightlife. Occasionally, I enjoy a night out, but I’m more of a dinner-at-a-great-restaurant type at this stage in my life. Beach days, kayaking, jungle hikes, and BBQs are where I thrive. If I feel the urge for a night out, Bangkok is just a few hours away. So, I feel like Hua Hin is a great fit for me.
From a property perspective, I’m torn:
One part of me would like to have a pool villa. I don’t need to be within walking distance of things anymore; I feel comfortable driving locally. I’d like to have an ensuite guest room and the ability to grill out.
Another part of me is thinking maybe I should get something incredibly affordable, like a two-bedroom beachfront apartment, and then I’d have more funds available to travel and explore Southeast Asia further.
Here’s an option I thought was pretty interesting, given the price, location, and style.
3/3 (three bedrooms, three bathrooms), fully furnished with a pool table and saltwater pool. Located in Hua Hin, about 10–15 minutes from the beach and close to golf, national parks, hiking, and dining options.
As a rental, the property is available for 32,000 Baht ($980 USD) per month, including pool service. The price decreases as you extend the length of the lease, up to five years.
As a purchase, the property is available for 5,260,000 Baht ($161,000 USD). No HOA fees.
I am not a real estate agent, I do not represent this property, nor do I receive any type of compensation. If you are interested in this property, I’ll gladly share the contact details of the listing agent.
